Spring Trends 2020

Oh, spring is in the air! Even though we’ve been cooped up inside for a while now, it’s as if you can smell it in the air: the fresh grass crowing, the smell of rain, I cannot wait! But, alas, I await patiently, and as I wait, I thought about writing a blog for you, my amazing present and future clients, about what I think will be the Top 5 Spring 2020 Trends!

  1. Floral Print Wedding Dresses: Remember when Angelina Jolie married Brad Pitt, and she had that beautiful wedding dress with her children’s drawings on it? Think that look but instead of children’s drawings I see floral prints, lovely birds, bursts of colours on classic wedding dresses. I think a lot will be subtle and pastel, but I’m excited to see something edgy, oversized, and bold embroidery on them!

  2. Next-Level Engagement Sessions: Engagement sessions are a great way to get to know your wedding photographer, but couples are starting to think of these engagement shoots as a series of photos capturing the moments worth creating up until the wedding. I see these shoots getting a lot more elevated, like our couple last year who did an engagement shoot for every season and presented them at their wedding, and although I saw a bit of this in 2019, I see it truly becoming a trend in 2020.

  3. Bold Colours: Don’t get me wrong, the romantic blush palette of weddings is definitely traditional and beautiful, but I see couples picking a bright, bold colour, and going full force with it, and if you can put this bold colour in unexpected places, like royal blue glassware, imagine how stunning that would be?

  4. Food as an Art: A couple of years ago, we saw a few couples had people walking around with a table attached to them and food on the table. I see that trend coming back, interactive food experiences. If that’s not what you’re into, I see food and mixology lessons being incorporated into their weddings. Even hiring your favourite chef to create a dining experience that is more unique than the average wedding caterer would be amazing.

  5. Outdoor Weddings: I see this coming back in a big way, but with soft draping and hanging greenery florals to create this elegant look. I still see over-the-top instillation pieces, a plethora of bright colours, and bold, unique arch shapes.

There you have it, loves! We see more styles coming our way, and we would love to connect you with a true designer to help you find that bold statement to make your wedding your own. Contact us today so we can make your wedding truly special and unique, just like your love.
