Vendor Spotlight - Chuckleberry Photography

We got to sit down with the incredible Tas of Chuckleberry Photography! You have to check out her work. She is sweet, fun, loving, and has an eye like you wouldn't believe! #BossBabe & #GirlPower all the way!

Let's start with the easy one: Who are you?

My name is Tas and I am the lead photographer of Chuckleberry Photography. I love everything art and do my best to translate that into my work. When I’m not shooting and editing, I’m most likely spending time with my family and exploring new spots to eat because, let’s face it, food is delicious and it’s always fun to find a new place to hang out.

What do you do (other than being awesome of course)?

Photographing weddings and events is how I spend most of my time. It’s been my area of focus for the past seven years, which is awesome in itself!

So, why weddings?

Weddings are such a joyous event in people’s lives and I’ve been lucky to be a part of so many. It’s a beautiful thing. Not only do I get to witness couples and families celebrate a union but I get to capture it in a way that allows them to enjoy it for a lifetime. That in its own right is a privilege.

What is your best part of the wedding day or planning process?

My favourite thing to do in the planning process is the engagement shoot session. This is where couples get to know me and I them. It’s also a good “practice run” to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. I enjoy many parts of a wedding day, but if I had to pick one I would say one of my favourite things to capture are the “getting ready photos” the morning of. It’s such an essential part of the story, there’s so much excitement and the bride and groom are usually surrounded by their closest friends and family which only means a lot of emotion and moments that need to be documented!

What question do you wish all couples would ask you?

I love when couples ask me about my approach and how I work on the day of. We are spending an entire day together and it’s important that we have a clear understanding of hour the day will flow so they can enjoy it to the fullest. My goal is to tell their story and reflect who they are as a couple and the best way to do that is with a photo journalistic style. This allows the couple to be fully present on their day while I photograph it as it unfolds.

What question do you wish couples would stop asking you?

I’m open to any questions a couple would have for me. There are so many pieces to a wedding and a lot to figure out, I’m happy to help and answer them any way I can.

What’s the one wedding trend you currently love?

Every wedding is unique and I truly believe everyone should feel free to express their style in what feels most authentic to them but I love a good first look moment. I’m a huge fan of this; it’s intimate and allows the couple to check in with each other. It also tends to put the couple at ease and solidifies their feelings of going into it together. Of course, it really makes for great pictures that are full of emotion which I’m a total sucker for.

What’s the one piece of advice you give all your couples?

My clients tell me the day goes by fast, which we know happens when you’re having a great time. Once the wedding day arrives, relax, be present and enjoy the experience.
