Trends to Ignore in 2021

It’s that time of year again: the weather is warming up, COVID restrictions are starting to lessen, and weddings are starting up again, which means we have a perma-smile on our face because we can start seeing our clients face to face soon! And WOW are we excited! So excited, in fact, that during our client meetings this weekend, our clients asked us what we thought would be the wedding trends to ignore this year, and what a perfect time for us to blog about it! So, without further ado, here are our Top 5 Wedding Trends to Ignore in 2021!

  1. Bad Hashtags: These are super cute, and we love that couples are using them, but create ones that aren’t too long, or too difficult to write out, and definitely too difficult to explain. Make them creative but easy for your guests so you can get every picture posted, which makes it easier for you!

  2. Monochromatic Bridesmaid Dresses: It’s time to allow for your bridesmaids to choose their dresses! Let them wear different patterns, styles, and designers that express their individuality while still staying within a complementary palette.

  3. Fake Hedge Walls: Out are the plastic, green faux shrugs and in are amazing backdrops that work with your theme and the settings. Plus, no one wants that plastic smell while they pose for pictures when a few feet away are beautiful smelling real flowers!

  4. Overdoing Dinner Choices: Let’s get rid of the “chicken or fish” option. It’s expensive, and slows down dinner service. Have everyone have one meal, and that’s it! Yes, those who have allergies or are vegetarians will get their options, but on a silent level.

  5. Naked Cakes: LATER! The amount of time I’ve had to fix a naked cake because my couple thought it was too naked… This year, I see cakes being whimsical and wacky and, in my opinion, I’m excited to see which will be the wackiest!

There you have it! Cannot wait to sit with you so we can discuss what you think should NOT be a trend this wedding season!
