Venue Spotlight - The Doctor's House

The Doctor’s House, one of those venues that truly has it all! A cute chapel on site, a venue with floor to ceiling windows, a fabulous menu, and located in a quaint little town that is perfect for photos! We sat down with Zoe, one of the amazing OnSite Coordinators, to chat more about this fabulous venue!

Let’s start with an easy one: Who are you and what do you do (other than being awesome of course)?

My name is Zoe and I am one of the Sales Associates and Logistics Managers at the Doctor’s House.

Tell us a little, or a lot, about your space.

The Doctor’s House is a first-class venue nestled within the historical town of Klienburg, Ontario. Established in 1848, the town is a timeless location and the perfect backdrop to celebrate any occasion, in any season. The Doctor’s House showcases four exclusively different venues, wach with a distinctive ambiance that will complement any special event. The historic interior is rich in character and can accommodate an intimate affair of 90 guests to a grand reception of 280 guests. The exterior grounds are a spectacular landscape of visit colours and naturally beautiful scenery. With a charming chapel, a breathtaking view of our garden space through large picturesque windows, roaring fireplaces, exposed wood beams, a roof top patio, and state of the art entertainment features, harmonize style and grace to a luxuriously elegant and one of a kind venue.

Why should clients choose your gorgeous venue?

The Doctor’s House is a picturesque venue with lush gardens, beautiful rooms, first-class cuisine and attentive staff. It is everything a couple requires to host an amazing wedding day.

Give us a little literary tour of your venue.

The Garden Room, or the Doctor’s Study, offers an intimate setting for an occasion as a private cocktailing space with a fireplace and private patio. The Garden Room allows for ample natural light, large wooden beams, and an additional fireplace creating the perfect setting for your upcoming event. The Heritage Room is booked exclusively on a second floor. It has beautiful exposed beams, abundant natural light, built in dance floor and fireplace. The Country Fare room has modern, elegant fixtures and large windows combining an open floor plan with mother nature in a timeless setting. The Country Fare opens onto your private patio and backs onto the Humber River Conservation. The Great Hall boasts 18ft ceilings with floor to ceiling windows overlooking The Doctor’s House grounds and the Humber River Conservation. Attached to a private patio with a large outdoor fireplace, our largest event space creates an awe-inspiring atmostphere. The Chapel is located in our lush gardens. The Chapel was constructed with a 1800 style boasting authentic wooden pews, iron chandeliers and cathedral windows.

How many guests can your venue accommodate?

The Doctor’s House has four beautiful rooms that can accommodate 90 to 280 guests.

What makes your venue different from all the others?

The Doctor’s House offers a romantic ambiance for your upcoming wedding. Complete with four unique halls, a quaint vintage wedding Chapel, two-over-night bridal suites and a five-star steak house onsite, it is the perfect location to host your special day.

What is your favourite part of the wedding day or planning process?

My favourite part about the wedding day is seeing the couples vision come to life. It is so nice to see the couples hard work come together and being a part of their special day.

What questions do you wish all couples would ask you?

“Do you think this is a good idea?” Sometimes couples think of an idea that sounds great on paper but is not the case in real life. It is so important to ask professionals before committing to something (especially if it costs money).

What question do you wish couples would stop asking you?

A question I get asked a lot is “How is the weather in a particular month?” This is a hard question to answer. With being in Canada, the weather is always unpredictable. One year that weather could be amazing and the next year it could be freezing cold. It is unfortunately a chance that every couple needs to take.

What’s the one wedding trend you currently love?

I absolutely love the “garden” theme. Not only are flowers, trees, greenery gorgeous, but it also fits so well in our venue.

What’s the one wedding trend you could do without?

None! I love them all!

What’s the one piece of advice you give all your couples?

During your wedding day, take a moment for yourself. Your wedding day will go extremely fast, during the night just stop, look around and take it all in.

Thank you so much to Zoe for chatting with us and allowing us to do this Venue Spotlight on the Doctor’s House! You can connect with them here, or connect with us here if you have more questions about our other venues!
