What Do Planners REALLY Do!

We’re back! After a much needed year off from writing blogs (we got a major writers block associated with it), we decided to come back and get everything we’ve learned and witnessed out on paper to our beautiful readers! And what better way to get the juices flowing that to write about what we Wedding Planners REALLY do!

To get started, let’s start with all the research we’re doing for our own knowledge on the subject. Wedding trends can be fickle, almost on a monthly basis, so we’re spending all of our time researching trends, studying bridal magazines, meeting new vendors to find out what they do and how they can help our clients, and searching for new ways our clients can entertain their guests. I would spend, I’d say, at least 16 hours a week doing all of those things. Keeping up with everything new and improved is how we’re able to help our clients to the fullest.

Next, the reason we’re hired. To some, our clients hire us to do Full or Partial Planning, which basically means we are hired to fully or partially plan their wedding. This consists of more research, phone calls, meetings, and more, to really narrow down the perfect vendor for our client. When planning our client’s weddings, we make sure that we know exactly what is being offered by each vendor, and why they would be a perfect fit for our client and their wedding.

Now, most of our clients prefer to plan their own wedding but want that added insurance of hiring a Day-Of or Month-Of Coordinator. During the month before the wedding, we are, again, on the phone contacting all the vendors that the couple has hired, finding out exactly what they were hired for, and creating an extremely detailed itinerary for the day so all of your vendors know exactly what is going on and when. We believe that if everyone has the knowledge of what’s going on that day, the chances of something going array has lessened.

But, before you know it, our client’s big day is here, and we’re witnessing two wonderful people expressing their love to one another in front of their closest family and friends. While this beautiful wedding is happening, we’re running around making sure everything happening behind the scenes is running perfectly. If anything is even slightly out of place, we’re the ones who are fixing it. Making sure vendors are doing what needs to be done, verifying all of the couples items, like menu cards or party favours, are put out, inspecting every single piece of cutlery, dishware and glassware is sparkling clean for the guests, and so much more!
