Top 5 Wedding Trends to Adopt

It’s true: wedding trends, like any trend really, come and go, almost on a monthly basis depending on the type of item we’re talking about. There have been times where I’ve looked at a couples photo album, or heard about their wedding, and knew the exact year that couple got married based on what I saw or heard. So, for today’s blog, I’m going to write about our Top 5 Wedding Trends to Adopt!

  1. Go Big and Go Home: Some are stating that one wedding trend happening in 2020 is for smaller, more intimate weddings (we have yet to see this) but that doesn’t mean the décor and statement pieces are anything but small! Couples are truly going BIG with their extravagant décor to really make their guests go WOW went entering their ceremony and/or reception space, like oversize centerpieces to take your guests breath away.

  2. Florals: Although bouquets were always a statement piece, they’re not becoming even more-so. Bold-statement colours, varying textures and shapes, are becoming a trend that we are absolutely loving! Another thing we’re loving is the tidy look of the bouquet with overflowing greenery that truly gives it that regal look!

  3. Lighting: Now, I’ve always been BIG on mood lighting, with tons of candles to give us that romantic look when the lights go down, but this year we’ve seen that romantic lighting moving more towards the lights themselves. Think exposed bulbs, twinkle lights, even customized neon signage, will give your venue that pop it needs!

  4. Grazing & Dessert Tables: Not to knock tradition, but gone are the wedding cake and it’s cutting. Instead, couples are now opting for a more savoury note and are having cheese towers and cheese boards, with artisan crackers and fruits. For the couple who still love sweets, though, they’re option for cupcakes, donuts and macarons.

  5. Bridesmaids Dresses: Gone are the days of bridesmaids all being in the same colour and dress, a trend that I’m honestly happy to see leave. Instead, couples are now putting their bridesmaids in dresses that are more their style and personality. Differentiating colours, print, and styles are really showing up this year for us, and we couldn’t be happier!

No matter what, though, the one trend that will never die is doing what you love for your wedding day! Contact us today to find out hour to incorporate your favourite trends and ideas into your wedding.
